Kunshan Kokei Food Co., Ltd.

Located 50 km northwest of Shanghai, Kunshan is one of China’s designated economic and technical development zones. In one corner of this district lies Kunshan Kokei Food Co., Ltd., which houses FUJI ROYAL’s largest-scale 400 kg hot-air convection roaster.

Since its establishment in 2003, our longstanding partner has delivered high-quality products, prioritizing environmental sustainability and adhering to the international FSSC22000 standard for food safety management. In the factory, green beans undergo four sorting steps before being placed into the hopper: preliminary, air, weight, and color selection. The operation utilizes detailed roasting profiles in the control panel, which are meticulously developed through extensive roasting tests with clients. Smoke from the afterburner is further processed to ensure that emissions are clear and environmentally friendly.

Advanced Machine Features

Our made-to-measure roaster fulfills the company’s aims with an astonishing thermal recirculation system. Unlike normal roasters, it reuses the exhaust heat by redirecting it to the burner chamber to enhance energy efficiency significantly. Managing director Koji Fukushima confirms, “Keeping the machine running on the recycled heat effectively cuts fuel costs.”

This massive machine is designed to tackle any potential issues. Its innovative “synchronized wheel” structure, an automatic connection between the unusually large lid and the drum, can discharge a vast quantity of beans all at once. This solution minimizes the time to release and discrepancies in roast quality and color from the first to the last bean released. Additionally, the structure boasts good heat distortion resistance.

Another prominent feature is a water blower in the drum. In case of a fire during roasting, this safety measure can be activated without opening the lid, thereby preventing a dangerous backdraft explosion.

In Tandem with Fuji Kouki

The drum’s spacious design offers the practical advantage of easy access for a man to enter and clean. In planning major maintenance, the director says, “Since we roast not just coffee but soybeans and grain with the machine, the inner wall and the paddles inside of the drum are now getting thinner. Based on Fuji Kouki’s suggestion, we plan to replace the drum and the front lid.”

At Fuji Kouki, we greatly value the trust shown by Kunshan Kokei Food, as client satisfaction is paramount to us. We not only tailor machines to individual needs but also extend comprehensive support to our customers in maintaining their quality standards.
